Bitterness the Star reviews by customers

Whoever Said Metal is Bad?
36 Crazyfists have to be one of the best bands of the metal genre, simply because they are so diverse and different from your average run-of-the-mill bands. The Vocal stylings on it are very well done and again, alot different from todays regualars. There are a few definate standout tracks on this album:
-Slit Wrist Theory: Quieter intro than most songs on this record but the chorus is heavy as ever and the second part to it contains some of the most wicked vocals on the album.
-Turns To Ashes: My personal favorite song being generally heavy all the way through with some excellent screaming and singing melodys.
-Bury Me Where I Fall: Again, heavy guitars, great vocals and a mix of screaming and singing top this one off.
-Circle The Drain: Some weird death metal kind of growlings in this one but surprisingly, it does not affect the song to any great extent. It just adds variety.
-EightMinutesUpsideDown: This song is also one of my favorites, the guitars, bass and drums merge really well on it and of course theres those haunting vocals over the top.

All in all i would recommend ANYONE who likes heavy music to buy this now, if not sooner.

Well, well, well...
I can't even beleive how good 36 Crazyfists is. They are melodic while obtaining complete heaviness. Their mix of emo and hardcore metal is perfect. Here's how I rate the songs.

(Five stars is the highest amount)

1.Turns To Ashes *****
Absoloutley great. An awesome album opener.

2.One More Word ***
One of my less favorite songs on the album but, oh well. Still good nonetheless.

3.An Agreement Called Forever *****
This song is absoloutly amazing. It switches back and forth between a beat that makes you wanna' bob your head, to an awesome soulfull chorus, and finally down to a meloncholy sounding bridge. Great lyrics and guitar work.

4."Eightminuetsupsidedown" ****
A really good heavy song. Makes you wanna bang your head and mosh every time you hear it. Cool intro and really good drumming.

5."Slit Wrist Theory" *****
This is the first song I ever heard from these guy's. I'm not an avid Uraniam viewer (a show on MUCH MUSIC USA) but it just happened that I was watching MUSIC VIDEOS on MM USA (wich I also don't do often) and Uranium came on. I fell asleep not even a minuet into the show. I was jerked from that sleep when I heard an awesome melodic metal song. I woke up right as the song progressed into the chorus and was amazed by what followed. A really emotional songs with touching lyrics and a great opening guitar and bass riff.

6."Bury Me Where I Fall" *****
This is one of the more diverse songs on the album feturing the lead singer of SKINLAB. This song is a great song to mosh to and release pent up anger. Awesome vocals.

7."Dislocate" *****
This song is just great. It has a really sinister sound, to me anyway, and is just all around great. I love this song.

8."Two Months Form A Year" *****
This song (along with "Chalk White", "An Agreement Called Forever", and "All I Am") is one of my favorite songs on the album. It is melodic and heartfelt. It is one of the most depressing songs on the album but hey, what the hell. Every emo album needs one.

9."Chalk White" *****
This song is sooooo damn good it's amazing. The guitar, bass, drums, and vocals all mesh together so well that it makes it one the songs on the album completly un-touchable to the rest.

10."All I Am" *****
This is also a good song for moshing and anger release. With really good lyrics and great vocals, Brock really lets you know how he feels on this one.

11."Ceramic" *
What the hell happened? They're churning out a great album so far and then comes "Ceramic". This song pisses me off. It sounds way to punk-y for me (I personally detest punk). I gotta' give them one star for trying though. I hope there's no songs like this on their next record.

12."Circle the Drain" *****
MOSH! MOSH YOU'RE LITTLE HEART OUT! The death metal growl at the begining signifies how heavy hitting the style of the song will be. An all around great song.

13."Left Hand Charity" **
I've only completed this song once and must say, was NOT!, very impressed. They go for an eerie sound on this track by distorting every thing and turning all the imputs down really low. So, in other words, it sounds [terrible]. If the song was done in a different way and the chords progression was a bit more expanded, this would be a great song, hands down. Brock's lyrics are very eerie and haunting.

36 Crazyfists has put out a great record. Whatch for their new record sometime next year. Until then, buy this if you don't have it and listen to it ...! (j/k)

AK Represent
I'm glad to see these guys have gotten so big. I only heard about them this year, and figured they were just big in Alaska, but reading these reviews it's clear they are fairly well-known all over. This makes sense of course, because 36Crazyfists is an awesome band, even if you hate metal and whatnot, like I do. There's something about them which makes them appealing, even if you despise bands which do nothing but scream, because there's just something more in this music than other hardcore bands. If you're gonna get one of their CDs though, get this one, not the new one, because I just picked it up yesterday and it's not NEARLY as good as Bitterness the Star. There's nothing that stands out on it, unlike the Slit Wrist Theory for this one. I've heard some good AK bands in the eighteen years I've spent all over this state, and it's nice to finally see that somebody made it big... I still wish it had been the Drunk Poets though. If anyone knows about them, you'll know what I mean.
